Rehabilitation Services


Fall River Health Services Rehabilitation department offers comprehensive care for patients suffering from short or long-term illness, include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Cardiac Rehabilitation. FRHS is committed to helping each patient reach their rehabilitation goal.

Services are provided in various settings, including
inpatient (acute and swing bed care), outpatient, nursing home, school districts, and at times, in the home.

FRHS Rehabilitation Team


Lisa Thompson, MPT, Rehab Manager

Lisa received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from North Dakota State University in 1990. After being out in the workforce for several years working with college and high school athletes she decided to further her education by pursuing a degree in physical therapy. Lisa received her Master of Physical Therapy Degree in 2000 from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Lisa has spent most of her physical therapy career with FRHS, coming on as a staff PT in the fall of 2000. Lisa has experience working with acute care, inpatient rehab/swing bed, outpatient, sports medicine, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Given her athletic training background, Lisa has a special interest in sports medicine, working with area athletes, and orthopedic conditions. Lisa and her husband, Scott, have three children and a son in-law. In her spare time, Lisa likes to spend time with her family, dogs, and horses. She enjoys the outdoors, whether that be spending time hiking, at the arena, rodeos, or on the ranch. Her hobbies also include travelling, completing DYI projects, and decorating.

Ashean Bacon PT, DPT, TPS

Ashean graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in Baguio City, Philippines, 2006. In 2019 she received her Doctorate Degree of Physical Therapy from University of Montana-Missoula. She recently earned the esteemed Therapeutic Pain Specialist certification, the highest clinical competency of evaluation and treatment of pain that a practitioner can earn through Evidence in Motion with Purdue University. Ashean has been practicing for 17 years in various setting including acute setting, outpatient, nursing home and has a special interest in geriatrics and orthopedic conditions. Ashean has lately expanded her education to specialized and become skilled in the integration of pain neuroscience education, graded motor imagery, neurodynamic, clinical reasoning and practicing evidence-based medicine, pacing and behavioral change to help patients with chronic pain.

Derrick Sletto - Physical Therapist Assistant, (PTA)

Derrick graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1997 with his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology. He then went on to Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown, SD where he received his Physical Therapist Associate degree and graduated in 1999. Derrick started working at the State Vets Home in 2000 before coming to Fall River Health Services in the Fall of 2009. Derrick's interests include sports medicine, pediatric therapy, and manual therapy (cupping and IASTM). Derrick is originally from Draper, SD and enjoys camping, hunting, hiking, fishing, downhill skiing, farming/ranching and spending time with his wife and three kids.


Jessica Metzger - Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Jessica graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2016 with her Physical Therapy Associate degree. She has been practicing for 6 years now in a multitude of settings including nursing homes, outpatient, aquatic therapy, pediatrics, and acute settings. She enjoys working with a wide variety of age ranges and enjoys working with orthopedics.






Travis Riedel - Physical Therapist (PT)

Travis graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a doctorate in physical therapy (DPT). He provides rehab services in the areas of outpatient therapy, swing-bed rehabilitation, as well as geriatrics in the nursing home. He has recently been certified in dry needling to help patients with both acute and chronic pain and inflammation. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing or taking his golden retriever out for walks.




Kathy DiDomenico - Cardiac Rehab Registered Nurse (CR-RN)

Kathy Graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing in Erie, PA in 1980. She became a Cardiac Care and ICU Nurse and joined the Traveling Nurse Corp where she had assignments in Texas and Colorado. She stayed in Cortez, Colorado and worked in a Trauma ICU for 11 years. During which received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the University of Colorado in 1985. She moved to SD in 1995 and worked in Cardiac Rehab, ER and ICU in Spearfish and Sturgis. In 2002 moved to Sioux Falls and worked in Avera Hospital System and Heart Hospital in Cardiac Care and Cardiac Rehab. She is happy to be back in Cardiac Rehab here in Hot Springs. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys many faucets of volunteer work, riding her Harley in the Hills with her husband, hiking, and playing with their German Shepherd.

Summer Miller - Occupational Therapist (OT)

Summer received her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota, Summer also received her undergraduate degree and minor from UND. Currently Summer is licensed to practice in the state of South Dakota. Summer's special interests include upper extremity orthopedic rehab and pelvic floor therapy. Summer is happy to be back in South Dakota after being out of state for college as she was raised on a ranch in Harding County, SD. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors camping, hiking, and fishing with her family.

Ann Parsells, Speech-Language Pathologist, MA, CCC-SLP

Ann received her Masters in Speech Pathology Degree from Hampton University in 1991. In 2002, she earned an additional Master of Special Education/Adolescent Emotional Disorders from Hampton University. Ann served as a clinical service provider position with TheraCare in Custer. SD, assisting the Hot Springs school district, Fall River Hospital, Castle Manor Nursing Home and the B-3 Program up until 2009. In 2010, she added additional services that included STAR Academy, Martin Hospital and Nursing Home, Birth-Three and Home Health. Ann has greater than 30 yes of experience in teaching, providing clinical supervision in medical settings for graduate clinicians, skilled intervention for children and adults in acute care, geriatrics, and outpatient services. Ann's vision as a therapist in the community is to serve and promote quality of life to include communication skills, self-esteem, aging with dignity and innovative interventions for the whole-body wellness.
