The laboratory is more – much more – than a place, it is all about the people, the many men and women whose lives are dedicated to providing answers and guiding cures. The professional staff at Fall River Health Services laboratory are dedicated individuals who work diligently to provide accurate and reliable test results to the physicians who diagnose and treat our community members. We take pride in the work we do to contribute to the healthcare of our community and are painstakingly meticulous to provide accurate, dependable, and timely results to our physicians.

Our laboratory offers a comprehensive list of clinical laboratory tests and is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation. The certified staff provides testing and information to aid physicians in the diagnosis, treatment and detection of disease. Laboratory tests can detect unknown health problems or the presence of disease in its earliest stages, when the possibilities of a cure are greatest and the treatment is least costly. An estimated 70% of a patient’s medical record is comprised of laboratory tests and are vital in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease. Over 100,000 tests are performed yearly at FRHS laboratory.

We provide outpatient services, including blood or other body fluid collections, Monday through Friday 7:30 to 4:30 and in-patient or emergency room services anytime day or night. We also offer employer requested drug and alcohol collections. Orders for blood or body fluid testing is accepted from local or out-of-town physicians, physician assistants, certified nurse practitioners, and chiropractors. Direct testing is also offered with payment required at time of service. With direct testing, patients can order tests on themselves or a family member. All testing, except for direct testing, are billed to Medicare, Medicaid, insurance companies, or patients directly. Laboratory testing at Fall River Health Services are covered by Medicare with physician orders and an appropriate diagnosis with no cost to eligible patients.
